OOPS, A message again!!
“You make me sick. Can’t u just wait for 5 mins till I toast this bread.” Oh, again one message received!! “Hey, I will msg you after sometime.”
Have you guessed the theme? Yes, it’s a message on SMS culture. Chatting through SMS is the latest trend to which most of them are addicted to. Television, computer games, internet are lagging behind the race where SMS has almost reached the finish line. And the reason is it deals with two hearts for free any time. It is not Short Message Service but Non-stop Message Service.
A letter written by my friend to our Professor:
Sir,
We hv decided to organize a tech meet this Monday. We r really glad to honor u as the Chief Guest. Pls accept our invitation and make the fn. a grand success.
Thanking u,
Urs faithfully,
X.
This was not written by my friend knowingly. Due to this influence of SMS language in the writings among students, a renowned university has announced that students will be rewarded marks/points if he/she has expressed the point by some means(no marks will be deducted for spelling errors). The original spellings are getting extinct, like the word then is slowly getting replaced by den (where den already has a meaning). If this continues, the dictionaries will have to be revised with words like hv(have), hw(how),
Apart from these, SMS also raises our heart beat when there is a delay in the reply (even if the message alert is on). And I know one of my friends whose fingers got burned after a long messaging spell. For your information, I was able to complete this writing on SMS as I didn’t receive any SMS for a long time (there might be some network problem). Thanks to the network!!
“Yeah tell me now, my work s over”……..Sending message
I can now hear the message alert………….1 message received(in my mobile).
