Indian Politics League -- Won't this be the correct abbreviation for IPL??
IPL is certainly one of the exciting tournaments in the world. It is exciting not only because of the titillation it brings on the field but also the googlies off the field!! It is top-rated not only because of the money involved but also the ecstasy it brings to the sport. But, is that sport played in a sportive manner?? Are we spoiling sport by mixing it with distasteful ingredients??
The amalgamation has to be perfect in order to ripe a better result. The sport was already spoiled by bringing in glamour in the name of cheer girls. Now, the entering of politics and power into the sport would not make cricket a Fair Play!! Yes, statistics says the amount of people who watch cricket has increased with the advent of IPL. That is great news if it is not for controversies they watch cricket. I believe that is true in most cases. I believe most of us would not have been aware of sweat equity before IPL 2010!! Why I say this is such is the domination of dramas off the field when compared to the action happening on those 22 yards.
How many film makers and actors and actresses use this IPL as a promoting strategy?? We can start counting and I am sure we will not end up finishing!! Just because Indians are passionate about this sport, people are over exploiting them. Politicians slog their way into cricket just to use this stage to assert their poly tricks.
They are in the process of serious exploitation of this beautiful game. Unless, they stop bringing politics into this, we can never watch a glorious cover drive without a match fix!!
